The Western Regional edition of Adom Brands’ “Democracy Is Not For Sale” forum is currently underway at the Takoradi Library, bringing together citizens and key stakeholders to discuss the growing influence of money in Ghana’s democratic process.
The forum is providing a platform for open and interactive discussions on issues including vote buying, the rising cost of political participation, campaign financing, and the impact of illicit funding on elections.
The initiative seeks to deepen public understanding of the threats money politics poses to Ghana’s democracy while encouraging citizens to actively participate in conversations on electoral reforms.
Participants, including political actors, civil society organisations, youth groups, traditional leaders and members of the public, are expected to share ideas and propose practical solutions to strengthen transparency and accountability in the country’s electoral system.
