Scenes at the Akofena residence were that of elation following the vesting of leadership of Kristo Asafo Mission in the hands of Israel Kwadwo Safo, by virtue of his late father’s will.
Moments after the will was read at the Accra High Court, family members and supporters thronged Akofena’s home to celebrate the landmark victory.
The atmosphere quickly turned jubilant as supporters waved white handkerchiefs to symbolise victory and his ascension to leadership.
Overcome with emotion, Akofena broke down in tears as he embraced relatives and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the court’s ruling.
The ruling settles the protracted succession dispute that erupted after the renowned industrialist and founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, died in September 2025.
Following his passing, competing claims over the leadership of both the church and the Kantanka Empire sparked months of legal and public disagreements among members of the Safo family.
With the court’s confirmation, Akofena now assumes leadership of the Kristo Asafo Mission and the wider Kantanka Empire. He already serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Kantanka Automobile, one of the flagship companies established by his late father.
The ruling is expected to bring finality to the succession battle and pave the way for unified leadership across the various institutions founded by Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
