Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has unveiled a 27-player provisional squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, blending experience with emerging talent as Ghana prepares for a challenging group stage campaign.
The selection brings together established players and rising prospects drawn from top leagues across the world.
Captain Portia Boakye headlines the list, alongside key names such as Grace Asantewaa, Princess Marfo, Alice Kusi, Evelyn Badu, Stella Nyamekye, Jennifer Cudjoe, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, and Princella Adubea, who are expected to anchor Ghana’s ambitions at the tournament.
Home-based representation remains strong, with players including Cynthia Konlan Fiindib of FC Samartex Ladies, Osman Huzeima of Jonina Ladies, and Ajegipina Zakaria of Ampem Darkoa Ladies also earning call-ups.
Their inclusion underscores the continued contribution of the Ghana Women’s Premier League to the national team setup.

The Black Queens are expected to reconvene in camp shortly as preparations intensify for the continental showpiece.
Ghana have been drawn in Group D and will open their campaign against Cape Verde on July 29 before facing Cameroon on August 2 and Mali on August 6.
All three matches will be staged at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca.
