Former Ghana technical advisor Winfried Schäfer has expressed confidence that the Black Stars have the quality to defeat Croatia in their final Group L match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field.
Ghana, four-time African champions, need at least a draw to secure progression to the knockout stage, while a win would guarantee a place in the Round of 32 and mark their first advancement beyond the group stage since 2010.
Schäfer, speaking to Transfermarkt, said he believes the team can rise to the occasion against the 2018 World Cup finalists.
“The squad has a lot of quality, and if they can unleash it at the right moment, I’m convinced they can beat Croatia,” he said.
The Black Stars head into the decisive fixture unbeaten in the tournament so far, following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Panama and a goalless draw against England.
The results leave both Ghana and England level on four points heading into the final round of group matches.
