Ghana and Denmark have formalized a new cultural partnership to protect and promote historical heritage sites in Osu, in a collaboration that highlights the deep historical ties between the two nations.
The GHS 1.7 million initiative brings together the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, the University of Ghana, and the National Museum of Denmark to document key historical locations and improve public access to cultural knowledge through digital preservation and interpretive installations.

The project is expected to capture and archive significant heritage sites in Osu, using modern technology to make historical narratives more accessible while strengthening public engagement with Ghana’s cultural past.
Advanced plans involve developing a museum and memorial at Osu Castle, aimed at safeguarding historical memory and deepening understanding of Ghana’s complex historical connections.

Officials say the initiative will also boost education, as it ensures that future generations remain connected to the stories that shaped the nation.
