Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has briefed members of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs on key development projects being implemented across the region, highlighting government efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance the livelihoods of residents.
Speaking at a general meeting of the House of Chiefs, he provided updates on completed, ongoing, and planned projects across various districts and municipalities.
He noted that the interventions cover key sectors including roads, healthcare, education, water supply, sanitation, agriculture, and local economic development.
According to him, the engagement was aimed at keeping traditional leaders informed about government programmes while strengthening collaboration between the state and traditional authorities in advancing the region’s development agenda.

He emphasized the important role chiefs play in community development and described them as key partners in ensuring the successful implementation of government programmes.
Mr. Gunu therefore appealed to the chiefs to continue supporting development initiatives and encourage their communities to actively participate in projects intended to improve their living conditions.
The Minister also highlighted ongoing efforts to attract investment into the region, create employment opportunities for young people, and expand access to essential social services. He assured the chiefs that government remains committed to ensuring equitable development across all parts of the Volta Region.
President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of the Anfoega Traditional Area, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, commended the Minister for the engagement and welcomed the updates on development activities across the region.
He reaffirmed the House’s commitment to supporting government programmes and stressed the importance of continuous consultation with traditional authorities on issues affecting their communities.
The meeting also gave chiefs the opportunity to share concerns, offer recommendations, and discuss ways of accelerating development and improving the welfare of people across the Volta Region.
