Sefwi Asafo: Man found dead by roadside after alleged church attack

A man identified as Kofi Obed, believed to be in his late 20s and a resident of Sefwi Afere, has been found dead by the roadside on the outskirts of Sefwi Asafo.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.

According to the Assembly Member for the Sefwi Asafo Electoral Area, Frederick Kwarteng, the deceased and some accomplices, who are currently on the run, allegedly attempted to attack members of the Continuation Church in the early hours of Saturday.

He explained that Kofi Obed was apprehended and was expected to be handed over to the police, but was later found lying dead by the roadside under unclear circumstances.

Frederick Kwarteng said the police at Sefwi Asafo were informed about the incident and later conveyed the body to St. John of God Mortuary, Sefwi Asafo for preservation and further investigation.

Police are expected to investigate the circumstances leading to his death as efforts continue to track down the other suspects.
