A suspected armed robber has reportedly died following an attempted vehicle theft near the Labone Girls School area in Accra.
An eyewitness told Adom News that the suspect, identified by residents only as “Mgu,” confronted a driver and fired a gunshot before making away with the vehicle.
Residents said the incident caused panic in the area, with bystanders unable to intervene after seeing the suspect armed and hearing the gunshot.
Witnesses further indicated that the suspect fled the scene in the stolen vehicle but later crashed it near the Girls School area under circumstances that remain unclear.
The suspect was subsequently found with a fatal gunshot wound. However, the circumstances leading to the injury have not yet been established.
Police officers later arrived at the scene and conveyed the body for further investigations.
Authorities are yet to officially confirm the details surrounding the incident as investigations continue.
