Roads and Highways Minister Kwame Governs Agbodza has explained that his Ministry’s road inspection tours sometimes stretch late into the night because the team works to meet daily targets rather than stopping at sunset.
Speaking to the media in Saboba during an inspection tour of the North East Region on Sunday, May 24, 2026, the Minister said the approach mirrors that of the contractors themselves, many of whom operate around the clock.
“Well, we work at night. We still eat at night and do everything at night, so sunset does not mean we should stop working. Some contractors are working at night while others work during the day, so we work to target. Until the target is achieved, sunset or sunrise is not a hindrance,” he said.
Agbodza has been leading inspection tours across parts of northern Ghana as part of government efforts to monitor road infrastructure projects and ensure timely delivery under its road development agenda.
