Ghana’s Black Stars will begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign with a difficult away fixture against reigning champions Ivory Coast national football team.
The draw for the qualifiers was conducted on Tuesday in Cairo, placing Ghana in Group C alongside Ivory Coast, The Gambia and Somalia as they continue their pursuit of a first continental title in over four decades.
Following the opening trip to Abidjan, the Black Stars will return home to face The Gambia on Matchday 2. The first two rounds of fixtures are scheduled to run from September 21 to October 6, 2026.
Matchdays 3 and 4 will see Ghana host Somalia before travelling for the return leg between November 9 and 17, 2026.
The final qualification window, from March 22 to 30, 2027, will see Ghana host Ivory Coast before concluding their campaign away to The Gambia.

Having missed out on the 2025 AFCON, the Black Stars will be determined to secure a return to the continental stage in East Africa in 2027.
