The communications and legal affairs team of parliamentary hopeful Mr. Bice Osei Kuffour, popularly known as Bice Osei Kuffour, has strongly rejected allegations linking him to the recent hooting incident involving Kwaku Asante-Boateng during polling station elections in Juaso.
In a statement signed by Afoakwah Albert Jnr on behalf of Team Obour4Parliament, the team described claims suggesting Obour orchestrated, sponsored, or encouraged the incident as false, malicious, and politically motivated.
According to the statement, Obour has never supported acts of intimidation, disrespect, or indiscipline against any member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), including Hon. Kwaku Asante-Boateng.
The team argued that the allegations were aimed at damaging Obour’s reputation, stressing that his growing influence and grassroots support in Asante Akim South continue to gain attention.
The statement also criticised some party communicators for allegedly engaging in personal attacks and divisive commentary instead of promoting peace and unity within the party.
Team Obour maintained that the aspiring parliamentary candidate remains committed to democratic values, party unity, and the development of Asante Akim South.
The statement further rejected claims that Obour had abandoned the constituency, insisting he has maintained long-standing relationships with residents through philanthropy, youth empowerment initiatives, educational support, and community engagements.
While acknowledging the contributions of Hon. Kwaku Asante-Boateng to the constituency, the team said political competition within the party should not be turned into hostility, intimidation, or character assassination.
The statement further warned that legal action could be pursued if what it described as false and damaging publications against Obour continue.
Team Obour called on party members and supporters to remain calm, respectful, and law-abiding while urging members of the NPP to embrace reconciliation and unity.
RESPONSE TO FALSE, MALICIOUS, AND DIVISIVE STATEMENT AGAINST OBOUR
Our attention has been drawn to a politically motivated statement circulating under the title “Strong Condemnation of the Hooting of Hon. Kwaku Asante-Boateng in Juaso.” The statement, regrettably filled with inflammatory rhetoric, baseless accusations, and deliberate attempts to sow division within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Asante Akim South, seeks to unfairly drag the name of Mr. Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour) into an incident with which he has absolutely no connection.
As representatives of Obour, we categorically reject and condemn the false allegations suggesting that he orchestrated, sponsored, encouraged, or had any involvement whatsoever in the unfortunate events that occurred in Juaso during the recent polling station elections.
At no point has Obour endorsed acts of disrespect, political intimidation, or indiscipline against Hon. Kwaku Asante-Boateng or any member of the NPP. Such claims are not only reckless and defamatory but also appear to be a calculated attempt to tarnish the reputation of a man whose growing influence, humility, and grassroots appeal continue to resonate strongly with the people of Asante Akim South.
It is deeply unfortunate that individuals who claim to be communication officers of the party would resort to personal attacks, insults, and divisive propaganda instead of promoting unity, maturity, and democratic tolerance within the constituency.
Obour remains fully committed to peaceful democratic engagement, party unity, and the advancement of Asante Akim South. His political journey has consistently been guided by respect for party structures, service to people, and a genuine desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of the constituency.
Contrary to the misleading narrative being pushed, Obour has never abandoned Asante Akim South. He has maintained longstanding relationships with constituents over the years through philanthropy, youth empowerment initiatives, educational support, entertainment advocacy, and community engagement long before expressing political interest in the constituency.
It is important to remind all party faithful that democracy allows every qualified member of the NPP to contest for leadership positions and to offer themselves for service. Contesting a parliamentary primary does not make one an enemy of the party or an enemy of the sitting Member of Parliament. Political competition within a democratic party should never degenerate into hatred, intimidation, character assassination, or deliberate misinformation.
We acknowledge and respect the contributions of Hon. Kwaku Asante-Boateng to the development of Asante Akim South. Public office is ultimately about service, and every leader who contributes positively deserves recognition. However, development projects funded by taxpayers and executed through government institutions should not be weaponized to suppress legitimate political participation or differing political opinions within the party.
The attempt to portray every disagreement or expression of dissatisfaction by constituents as being orchestrated by Obour is dishonest, unfair, and politically irresponsible. The people of Asante Akim South are politically aware, independent-minded citizens capable of expressing their views without manipulation.
We are particularly concerned by the dangerous and defamatory nature of the accusations made against Obour without a shred of evidence. We wish to serve notice that while our client remains committed to peace and internal party harmony, we will not hesitate to explore all legal remedies available should the continuous publication of false and damaging allegations persist.
The NPP has always stood for rule of law, tolerance, freedom of expression, and internal democracy. We therefore urge all party members and communicators to desist from inflammatory commentary capable of deepening divisions within the constituency.
This is a time for reconciliation, reflection, and unity — not propaganda, scapegoating, and internal hostility.
Obour remains focused on supporting the growth of Asante Akim South, empowering the youth, strengthening party unity, and contributing positively to the future of the constituency and the New Patriotic Party.
We encourage all supporters and party faithful to remain calm, respectful, and law-abiding as the party continues its internal processes.
