The Ghana Education Service (GES) has assured the public that all qualified candidates who sat for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will be placed in Senior High and Technical Schools across the country.

In a statement, GES congratulated all Junior High School graduates for successfully completing the examination and announced that preparations have been finalised to receive fresh students into schools on September 18, 2026.

According to the Service, adequate arrangements and infrastructure have been put in place to ensure every qualified student gains access to secondary education.

GES also dismissed reports circulating in sections of the media suggesting that about 72,000 students could miss out on placement, describing the claims as speculative and inaccurate.

The Service urged the public to disregard the reports, insisting that there are sufficient facilities to accommodate all qualified candidates.

Management further assured stakeholders that ongoing efforts to phase out the double-track system will not affect access to Senior High and Technical education.

According to GES, the move is expected to improve the quality of teaching and learning while maintaining full access for students nationwide.

The Service reaffirmed its commitment to equitable, inclusive and quality education for every Ghanaian child and called on stakeholders to support the national education agenda.
