A newborn baby has been found abandoned in a bush at Dechimso-Hafia in the Manhyia South Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The baby was discovered by residents on Sunday, who quickly alerted authorities. The baby was subsequently rescued and rushed to the Manhyia Government Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Police in the area have since launched investigations to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for the act.
Authorities are appealing to the public, particularly residents of Dechimso-Hafia and its environs, to volunteer any information that could aid the investigation.
The Assembly Member for the area, Ahenkan Baako, confirmed the incident to Adom News, stating that the Police are actively investigating the matter and working to trace the mother of the child.
“We have taken the baby to the Manhyia Government Hospital for further assessment,” he added.
