Aduana Football Club have officially announced the funeral arrangements for their late player, Dominic Frimpong, in a statement released on Sunday.
The 20-year-old tragically lost his life following an attack by armed men while Berekum Chelsea were returning to Berekum after their Ghana Premier League fixture against FC Samartex.
Frimpong was reportedly shot in the head and was pronounced dead after being rushed to Bibiani Government Hospital. Other teammates who were involved in the incident sustained minor injuries.
According to the club, the final funeral rites will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Assin Dansame, where family members, teammates, and members of the football fraternity are expected to gather to pay their last respects.
The family of the deceased has formally informed the club and key stakeholders, including Dr. Agyemang Badu II, as preparations continue for the ceremony.
As part of its support to the bereaved family, Aduana FC disclosed that all outstanding financial obligations owed to the player, including unpaid monthly salaries, will be redirected to his family.
The club also stated that it is working closely with Frimpong’s family to ensure a befitting burial, with all funeral expenses to be fully covered by the club as a mark of honour and respect.
Aduana FC further invited members of the football community and the general public to join in mourning the late player and celebrating his life and contribution to the game.
“May Dominic Frimpong continue to rest in perfect peace,” the statement concluded.

The announcement was signed by Evans Oppong, Corporate Affairs and External Relations Manager of Aduana FC.
