The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama, has met with Ghanaian X (formerly Twitter) content creators at Bank Square in Accra to address concerns relating to access to digital platform payouts.

The engagement, which took place on April 22, 2026, follows a statement issued by the Bank on April 20, 2026, responding to concerns raised by creators about the processing of their earnings.

Dr Asiama assured the content creators that the Bank values their work, comparing it to key export sectors such as cocoa.

“Therefore, if you have any issues with your payouts, we are ready to help,” the Governor said. “We are making ourselves accessible so that we resolve all the issues that you have.”

He also encouraged them to form a formal association to facilitate structured engagement and quicker resolution of challenges.

“We are interested in what you are doing and will do everything to facilitate your work,” he added.

The Bank of Ghana reiterated that, under existing foreign exchange regulations, service export proceeds may be received through Foreign Exchange Accounts held with banks in Ghana or credited into Ghana Cedi accounts, provided all transactions comply with regulatory requirements.
