The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has held discussions with envoys of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) accredited to Ghana, focusing on ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and broader global developments.
The meeting, held on Monday, April 13, 2026, brought together ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait.

These envoys included the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Dakhel; the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Murad Suliaman Mohammed Al-Mandoos; the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, His Excellency Khalid Bin Jabor Saif Jasser Al-Mesallam; and the Chargé d’Affaires of the State of Kuwait, Husain Alebrahim.

Discussions centred on the escalating tensions in parts of the Middle East and their humanitarian impact, with both sides stressing the urgent need for peaceful resolution through dialogue.
Mr. Ablakwa reiterated Ghana’s foreign policy stance, emphasizing respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and adherence to a rules-based international order.

The GCC envoys acknowledged the existing cooperation between their countries and Ghana at both bilateral and multilateral levels, and called for sustained diplomatic engagement to promote peace and stability.
Both sides agreed on commitment to strengthening relations and supporting efforts aimed at resolving conflicts through peaceful means.
