Residents are set to benefit from improved healthcare access following the commissioning of a new CHPS compound aimed at strengthening service delivery at the community level.

The facility is expected to provide essential services, including primary healthcare, maternal and child health services, family planning, health education, emergency care, and community outreach programmes.

The project, spearheaded under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive, Lydia Ohenewa Sarah, forms part of efforts to enhance healthcare delivery within the municipality.

Speaking at the commissioning, the MCE emphasised the importance of the facility in addressing the health needs of residents and improving overall community wellbeing. She encouraged residents to make full use of the services provided.

“This newly commissioned CHPS compound represents more than just a building; it symbolises our dedication to the well-being of our community,” she stated.

“Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and the Suhum CHPS compound will serve as a vital hub for providing comprehensive healthcare services, including first aid, maternal and child health services, and health education, directly within the community.”

The Assembly also expressed appreciation to the Ghana Health Service, community members, and other stakeholders whose support contributed to the successful completion of the project.
