Musician Patapaa has announced the date for the final funeral rites of his mother, Madam Ekua Boatemaa, also known as “Boat.”
In a public invitation shared by the artiste, he described his late mother as his “first love” and called on the general public, members of his fanbase known as Pa2pa Sojas, and the media to join the family in mourning and celebrating her life.
The funeral rites are scheduled to take place from Friday, May 8 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Assisim in Agona Swedru.
The programme will begin with a wake-keeping on Friday, followed by a lying-in-state and burial service on Saturday, May 9. Interment will also take place the same day at the Agona Swedru Public Cemetery, while a thanksgiving service is expected on Sunday, May 10 at the Gospel Ambassador Church.
The family has expressed appreciation to sympathisers and the public for their support as they prepare to bid their final farewell to the late Madam Ekua Boatemaa.
