The Member of Parliament for Berekum West, Dickson Kyere-Duah, has condemned the fatal armed robbery attack on the Berekum Chelsea team bus, describing it as barbaric and unacceptable.
In a statement issued on April 13, 2026, the MP expressed deep sorrow over the death of footballer Dominic Frimpong, who was shot during the attack, as well as injuries sustained by other team members.

He extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the club, and the entire football fraternity, describing the loss as a painful blow to the nation.
The MP called on security agencies to swiftly investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice, stressing that the safety of citizens must be treated as a national priority.
He also urged the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, the Ghana Football Association, and other stakeholders to review and strengthen security arrangements for teams travelling across the country.
Mr. Kyere-Duah wished the injured players a speedy recovery and called for unity in condemning violence to prevent similar incidents in the future.
