Interim Asante Kotoko coach Prince Yaw Owusu has conceded that the club’s bid to win the Ghana Premier League title is effectively over following their heavy defeat to Medeama SC.
The Porcupine Warriors were beaten 4–0 by Medeama SC in Sunday’s Matchday 29 fixture, a result that has further dented their fading championship ambitions.
Speaking after the game, Owusu did not hide his disappointment, bluntly admitting that Kotoko are no longer in the title race.
“Our title dream this season is gone,” he said.
The defeat leaves Asante Kotoko sitting sixth on the league table with 43 points. The Kumasi-based side have now gone three matches without a win, compounding their struggles in the closing stages of the campaign.
Kotoko will next return to the Baba Yara Stadium to host Hohoe United in Matchday 30 before travelling to face Dreams FC at the Tuba Astro Turf in Matchday 31.
