Sunyani Technical University has taken disciplinary action against three students following findings of examination malpractice during the second semester resit examinations for the 2024/2025 academic year.

According to a statement from the Office of the Registrar, the sanctions were imposed after investigations confirmed breaches of examination regulations.

One male student was found culpable of impersonation after he “arranged for another person to write an examination on his behalf.”

In separate incidents, a female student and another male student were also sanctioned for the “possession and use of unauthorised material” during the examinations.

Management of the university reiterated its firm stance against academic dishonesty, stressing that “examination malpractice in any form will not be tolerated” and warning that “severe sanctions will be applied to offenders.”

The statement further reminded students of their responsibility to uphold academic standards, noting that “all students are expected to maintain academic integrity at all times.”

It added that the disciplinary action was necessary to “protect the sanctity, credibility, and integrity of the University’s examination system.”
