The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has criticised President John Dramani Mahama over the Damang mine takeover, accusing him of hypocrisy and double standards.
Speaking on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen, Mr Boakye alleged that the Damang concession was awarded to Engineers and Planners (E&P), a company linked to the President’s brother.
He argued that President Mahama, while in opposition, accused former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of state capture for allegedly empowering family members, but is now engaging in similar conduct.
Mr Boakye further claimed that the President’s actions contradict his earlier public stance, insisting that Ghanaians deserve an apology.
“During his time in opposition, Mahama accused Akufo-Addo of empowering his family for state capture. By those same standards, Mahama’s brother is doing the same thing. He is using his brother’s plane, which contradicts his own code of conduct. Everyone is aware that Bryan Acheampong is one of the biggest hoteliers in Ghana, but the SSNIT saga was politicised. The President needs to apologise,” he said.
