A 45-year-old man has been arrested for possession of substances suspected to be narcotic drugs at Pankrono, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Foster Owusu, popularly known as “Master Pee,” was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation by the Drug Law Enforcement Unit of the Ghana Police Service.

According to police reports, at about 7:00 p.m. on April 5, 2026, the team spotted the suspect locking up a single-room facility and attempting to flee upon noticing their presence. He was immediately arrested.

A search of the room led to the discovery of thirty-nine (39) compressed, sellotaped slab parcels of dried leaves concealed in a “Ghana Must Go” bag, and ten (10) compressed, sellotaped parcels of dried leaves hidden in a black sack. The substances are suspected to be narcotic drugs.

In a cautioned statement, Master Pee denied ownership and possession of the seized items. He claimed the room belonged to his girlfriend, identified as Anita, and another person, Cindy, explaining that he had visited the location but found them absent and the door unlocked.

The seized substances are expected to be forwarded to the Police Forensic Science Laboratory in Accra for analytical examination and reporting.

The suspect remains in police custody, assisting with investigations, while efforts continue to locate the other individuals mentioned.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command reiterated its commitment to intensifying operations against illicit drug activities and urged the public to provide timely and credible information to help combat drug-related crimes in communities.
