The Black Starlets are set to discover their group stage rivals for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) today.
The draw will take place on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 16:00 GMT at the Confederation of African Football in Cairo.
Ghana secured their spot in the tournament by finishing as runners-up at the 2025 WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship in Ivory Coast, marking their return to the continental stage for the first time since 2017.
This edition of the U-17 AFCON also serves as a qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup. All eight quarter-finalists will automatically qualify, with two additional best third-placed teams joining them to make up Africa’s ten representatives.
The tournament, hosted by Morocco, will run from May 13 to June 2, 2026, featuring 16 of the continent’s top youth sides competing for the coveted U-17 crown.
