Momentum built steadily at Obomeng in the Eastern Region as the 2026 Adom Kwahu FM Easter festivities unfolded into one of the most vibrant editions in recent years, drawing thousands of revellers from Friday through to midnight on Sunday.
From the opening day, Adom Park became a hub of excitement, setting the tone for a weekend filled with culture, competition and entertainment. One of the early highlights was the Lavonce Cooking Contest, which delivered both humour and creativity as an all-male lineup took over the kitchen.

Participants stepped out of their comfort zones in a lively showdown that saw teams battle for culinary supremacy. Kuami Eugene a Kwahu Bepong teacher alongside Jerry Justice to prepare plain rice with light soup, while presenter Maestro teamed up with Barrister Edmund for rice and vegetable stew.
Elsewhere, Eric Oware Agyapong, popularly known as Alonso, paired with Kegewa to serve waakye and stew, while Nana Kofi Onwona, the Nkawkaw Sanaahene, joined forces with presenter OPD to present assorted beef jollof rice with stew.

In the end, it was a standout performance featuring a spicy, aromatic light soup made with Lavonce tomato mix, dried tilapia and mushrooms, served with well-cooked plain rice, that clinched the top prize. Judges praised the dish for its bold flavours, creativity and presentation.

The Akwaaba Bash further amplified the festive mood, earning widespread praise from patrons who described it as one of the most memorable experiences of the celebration.

Attention then shifted to Kwahu Tafo on Saturday , where the Tafo Games brought together eight communities in a competitive football gala. The tournament saw intense clashes across two groups, culminating in a dramatic knockout stage.

Group A: Bepong, Mpraeso, Pitiku, Kwahu Tafo
Group B: Nkawkaw, Nteso, Nkwatia, Atibie
Pitiku secured their place in the final after edging past Atibie on penalties, while Mpraeso eliminated defending champions Nteso in another tense shootout. In the final showdown, Mpraeso emerged victorious, narrowly defeating Pitiku to be crowned champions of the 2026 Adom Kwahu Easter football gala.

Mpraeso walked away with GHS 3,000 and sponsor packages, while Pitiku received GHS 1,000 alongside additional prizes. Sponsors added a unique touch to the rewards, presenting items including Ebony condoms, Franko phones, branded bags and t-shirts.

As night fell on Saturday, Obomeng witnessed its biggest spectacle — the Mega Bash. Thousands flooded the venue in anticipation of electrifying performances, turning the area into a sea of music and energy.

Music maestro Ball J made a surprise return to the Kwahu stage, delighting fans who had missed his presence. He set the tone for a night that would only grow more intense.

Rap Fada followed with a commanding performance, thrilling the crowd with hits like “Wo Case” and “Butterfly Love.” His performance peaked when he delivered “Odo Bi Ye Bad,” his collaboration with King Paluta, sending the audience into a frenzy.
