Matchday 28 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League delivered a compelling round of fixtures across the country, with one final game still to be played on Monday.

The weekend began on a controversial note on Friday, as Hohoe United failed to honour their fixture against Eleven Wonders at the Swedru Stadium after announcing their withdrawal from the league over what they described as systemic unfairness. Eleven Wonders were subsequently awarded all three points and three goals.

Action on the pitch resumed on Saturday at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, where Bechem United were held to a 1-1 draw by Medeama SC. Veteran forward Augustine Okrah gave the hosts the lead, but Salim Adams struck late from a free kick to earn Medeama a share of the spoils.

Sunday’s matches saw several key results shape the top and bottom of the table. Hearts of Oak strengthened their title push with a narrow 1-0 victory over Young Apostles at the Accra Sports Stadium. Frank Abora Duku’s first-half goal proved decisive, lifting the Phobians into third place.

At the AAK II Arena, Basake Holy Stars maintained their impressive home run, edging Karela United 1-0 courtesy of Bismark Teye’s second-half strike. The result marked their tenth consecutive home win and moved them up to seventh.

In the Bono derby at Golden City Park, Berekum Chelsea claimed a vital 1-0 win over Aduana FC. Emmanuel Ofosu’s composed finish boosted Chelsea’s survival hopes while dealing a blow to Aduana’s ambitions of finishing in the top three.

Bibiani Gold Stars climbed back to the summit of the league standings with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Nations FC at Dun’s Park. Samuel Atta Kumi opened the scoring before an own goal by Asante Boahen restored their lead after Razak Simpson had briefly equalised from the penalty spot.

Heart of Lions secured a comfortable 2-0 win against Vision FC at the Kpando Sports Stadium, with early goals from Kelvin Asenso and Michael Ephson setting the tone.

At the Swedru Sports Stadium, Swedru All Blacks left it late to defeat Dreams FC, with Zayat Bubakari netting a dramatic winner.

The final fixture of the round will see Asante Kotoko host FC Samartex at the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday, with kick-off set for 16:00 GMT.

Heading into the last game of the round, Bibiani Gold Stars, Medeama SC, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko occupy the top four positions. At the other end of the table, Young Apostles, Hohoe United and Eleven Wonders remain in the relegation zone.
