Grief and emotion filled Obomeng in the Eastern Region as Madam Leticia, mother of the late Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, opened up about the pain of losing her son in a tragic plane crash.

Speaking at a ceremony at the Obomeng ICT Centre, where an Artificial Intelligence training facility was named in his honour, Madam Leticia reflected on her loss while expressing steadfast faith in God.

“It’s not easy for me, but I know God will take care,” she said, conveying both sorrow and hope.

The event also included the unveiling of a statue celebrating Dr. Omane Boamah’s contributions to national development, particularly in technology and governance.

President John Dramani Mahama, traditional leaders, and community members attended the ceremony to pay tribute to the late statesman.

Madam Leticia described her son as a visionary leader whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations, highlighting his dedication to public service and innovation.

The dedication of the AI centre and statue underscores the community’s recognition of Dr. Omane Boamah’s lasting impact on Ghana’s technological advancement and governance.
