Former Germany head coach Joachim Löw has dismissed reports linking him to the vacant Ghana national team job, insisting he has not held any discussions with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over a possible appointment ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The GFA is currently in search of a new head coach following the dismissal of Otto Addo on Monday.

The decision came in the wake of disappointing back-to-back defeats to Austria and Germany during the March international break, results that intensified scrutiny on the Black Stars’ preparations.

Despite growing speculation suggesting that the 2014 World Cup-winning coach had been contacted, Löw was quick to shut down the rumours. Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, he stated: “No one from Ghana has officially spoken to me.”

Since leaving his role as Germany’s head coach after UEFA Euro 2021, Löw has remained out of management, turning down several coaching opportunities.

Meanwhile, the search for Addo’s successor continues, with several high-profile names reportedly under consideration, including Kwesi Appiah, Walid Regragui, Pitso Mosimane, Tom Saintfiet, and Hervé Renard.

Ghana are expected to resume preparations for the World Cup with friendly matches against Mexico and Wales in May and June.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L and will face Panama, England, and Croatia when the tournament begins on June 11 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
