The National Youth Authority (NYA) has been recognised for its outstanding contributions to youth development, receiving the 2025 National Youth Champion Award at the Head of State Award Scheme ceremony held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra.
The award was accepted on behalf of the Authority by Alhaji Inusah Mahama, Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Operations and Programmes, who represented the institution at the event.
The Head of State Award Scheme, also known as the Duke of Edinburgh International Award, was established in 1967 to promote values such as discipline, volunteerism, and patriotism among young people.
This year’s celebration was held under the theme “Equip, Empower, Excel: Building Brighter Futures Through Opportunities.”
In addition to honouring the Authority, the scheme also recognised 336 young people with Gold Awards for 2025, highlighting their achievements and commitment to personal development and community service.
