The Methodist Church Ghana has urged Ghanaians, especially public officials, to embrace humility, integrity, and selfless service during the Easter celebrations.
In an Easter message dated March 30, 2026, issued from the Conference Office at Wesley Towers in Accra, the Presiding Bishop extended warm greetings to President John Dramani Mahama, Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, and all citizens.
Reflecting on the significance of Easter, the Church highlighted the example of Jesus Christ’s humility and sacrifice, as described in Philippians 2:5-11, emphasizing that true elevation comes through service and submission to God.
The statement expressed concern over rising corruption in public service, calling it a major obstacle to national development. Leaders and citizens were urged to abandon self-serving attitudes and work toward the collective good of the nation.
According to the Church, Easter is a time of renewal and transformation, calling for a shift in mindset and a commitment to justice, love, and accountability in all areas of life. The message underscored that the resurrection of Christ symbolizes victory over despair and reassures that no situation is beyond redemption.
