The Member of Parliament for Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira, Kofi Arko Nokoe, has reassured residents of the Lower Axim and Nsein Traditional Areas that all measures will be taken to maintain unity and prevent conflict following tensions between two paramount chiefs.
In a statement released on Tuesday, March 31, Mr. Arko Nokoe urged residents and community stakeholders, particularly the youth, to remain calm, law-abiding, and refrain from actions or statements that could escalate the situation.
“At this critical moment, I call on all stakeholders to allow dialogue, wisdom, and due process to guide the way forward,” he said.
A native of the Nsein area and a loyal member of the Lower Axim Traditional Area, the MP emphasized the central role of traditional institutions in preserving community identity and cohesion.
He also confirmed plans to work closely with the Municipal Security Council, the Regional Coordinating Council, the Nzema Manle Council, and the Regional House of Chiefs to carefully review the situation.
“Let me assure the good people of Axim, and the entire constituency, that every necessary step will be taken to safeguard peace and protect the unity of our traditional areas,” he added.
