The President of the Odadee 1995 Year Group, Dr Steven Amanor, has made a passionate appeal to fellow alumni of Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC Legon) to support a bold initiative aimed at transitioning the school fully onto solar power.
According to him, the move is critical to easing the financial burden of electricity bills on the school, which continues to rely heavily on the national grid. He urged various Odadee year groups to adopt specific departments within the school and equip them with solar energy solutions as a sustainable alternative.

The appeal follows a significant milestone achieved by the Odadee 1995 Year Group, which recently installed a solar-powered lighting system at the school’s entrance—an area that had been in darkness for years. The project formed part of activities marking their 30th anniversary since leaving PRESEC Legon.
To crown the celebration, members of the year group gathered for a dinner night filled with nostalgia, camaraderie, and reflection. Alumni shared memories from their time on campus, cut a commemorative cake, and raised a toast to long life and continued success.
Speaking to the media during the event, Dr. Amanor emphasized that a collective effort by the Odadee fraternity could significantly reduce the school’s dependence on conventional electricity while promoting sustainability and climate resilience.

He also expressed deep appreciation to his colleagues for their unwavering support over the years and encouraged them to continue strengthening their bond and working together for the advancement of their alma mater.
