Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has called on Ghanaian youth to work closely with their elders to preserve the country’s cultural values, norms, and dignity.

She made the appeal while serving as special guest at the 25th anniversary celebration of Nana Mprah Besemuna III, Paramount Chief of the Krachi Traditional Area.

Addressing chiefs, elders, and residents at Kete-Krachi, the Vice President urged the youth of Krachi to embrace collaboration as a key responsibility in sustaining their heritage.

“Support your chiefs and focus on your education. The future of this proud tradition depends on you—work hard to ensure it,” she emphasized.

She further encouraged young people not to stray from the efforts of elders who are working to build and preserve a strong cultural legacy, stressing that they remain central to the nation’s development.

“Take your education seriously. Whether it is academic learning or a skill, commit to it so you do not become a burden to society,” she admonished.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also praised Nana Mprah Besemuna III for his leadership, particularly in maintaining peace and stability within Krachi and its surrounding communities. She noted that his leadership has been instrumental in fostering unity and development in the area.

The Silver Jubilee celebration, held on Saturday, March 28, marked 25 years since the enstoolment of Nana Mprah Besemuna III as Krachiwura and President of the Krachi Traditional Council.

The event, themed “Celebrating 25 Years of Traditional Leadership, Unity and Development in Krachi,” brought together dignitaries from across the country to honour the chief’s enduring legacy.
