Founder of Hebron Prayer Camp, Elder Frank Donkor, has recounted the heart-wrenching final moments he shared with his sons before a light aircraft crash in Tema claimed their lives.

According to Elder Donkor, his elder son, Captain Frank Amoaning Donkor, 36, who was piloting the aircraft, had just returned from Ho after securing a multimillion-dollar contract for a pilot school and university.

Before takeoff, the brothers called to share their itinerary.

“They called me before takeoff to announce their plans. Just five minutes before the crash, my son shared their location with me. They told me they were at Tema. He even showed me videos of the sea and my younger son, Elijah, sleeping. Elijah is a jovial person, so he woke up to crack jokes with me and assured me he would call when they landed in the next five minutes,” Elder Donkor said.

Tragically, his attempts to call back five minutes later went unanswered, and shortly after, news of the crash reached him.

The light aircraft, registered 9G-ADV, crashed within the premises of the TMA Day Care Centre before catching fire. Both occupants suffered severe burns and died as a result of the incident.

Despite the tragedy, Elder Donkor expressed gratitude to God and extended appreciation to the President for arranging a state burial.

He shared the account during a church service, where he invited his congregation to attend his sons’ funeral on Saturday, March 28.
