A truck transporting yams has overturned at Bawa Akora in an accident that could have escalated into a fire disaster.
The incident occurred on March 25, 2026, when a MAN diesel truck, with registration number BA 782-V, reportedly developed a steering fault, causing the driver to lose control and veer off the road.

The vehicle subsequently fell onto its right side, spilling diesel onto the road and raising concerns about a possible fire outbreak.
All three occupants on board, however, escaped unhurt.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and worked to contain the spilled fuel, preventing ignition and securing the area.

Traffic flow was temporarily affected but was later restored after the scene was cleared.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.
