Gomoa Central Member of Parliament, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, has said the introduction of the Gomoa Festival is aimed at boosting the economic livelihoods of people in his constituency.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, he explained that the initiative is designed to attract investors and tourists while showcasing the area’s economic potential.
He revealed that the four-day event will feature major Ghanaian artistes such as KK Fosu, Sarkodie, and Shatta Wale, with Shatta Wale expected to headline the closing show.
According to him, the festival is projected to attract over 20,000 people, creating business opportunities and encouraging investment in the constituency.
He added that guided tours will be organised for visitors as part of efforts to promote tourism and fully showcase the constituency’s potential.
“The main idea is to boost the economy of our area. If you consider the impact Easter has had on Kwahu, it’s significant. My constituency is home to the biggest fish farm in West Africa, but we need to raise awareness about it. Ghanaians should support this initiative. Many people are making substantial profits from tourism, and we need to tap into that potential.
“We are organising a four-day event filled with exciting activities. Artists like KK Fosu, Sarkodie, and Shatta Wale will perform, with Shatta Wale closing the show on Sunday; his company is the headline sponsor. I am confident that over 20,000 people will attend, and once we see those numbers, more investors will want to get involved. We aim to open up the constituency for everyone to experience, and we will also organise tours for visitors,” he said.
