A modern six-unit classroom block has been commissioned for the people of Mfigmado by amalgamated group in the Kpandai District of the Northern Region under the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP).

The project, launched in 2019, is a five-year, $174 million initiative aimed at improving the quality of education in 10,000 low-performing basic schools, strengthening equity in the education sector, and enhancing accountability across Ghana.

The newly completed facility, which includes changing rooms, was executed in collaboration with the Kpandai District.

Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, Haruna Abdul Karim , The DCE for urged the Mfigmado community to make good use of the facility and ensure its proper maintenance. He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to working closely with the District Directorate of Education to ensure the posting of teachers and the provision of furniture to fully operationalize the school.

The DCE described the classroom block as a model of modern educational infrastructure in the district, noting that it would significantly enhance teaching and learning outcomes for pupils in the area.

On his part, the project supervisor, Mr. Alhasan, assured stakeholders that the contractor remains committed to addressing any structural defects that may arise. He explained that the contractor would return to fix any faults within a six-month defect liability period as stipulated in the project agreement.

The commissioning of the facility is expected to improve access to quality education for children in Mfiegmado and surrounding communities, while contributing to the broader objectives of GALOP in transforming basic education delivery across the country.
