Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has blamed his side’s defeat to Dreams FC on a sluggish start, after the Mauve and Yellow side fell 2-1 in Sunday’s Matchday 26 clash at the Tuba Astro Turf.

The result saw Medeama relinquish top spot in the league standings, with Bibiani GoldStars moving ahead of them.

Reflecting on the game, Tanko acknowledged his team’s early struggles proved decisive.

“We started very slowly, and Dreams FC were the better side in the opening 20 minutes,” he said.

He noted, however, that his players gradually settled into the contest and improved after the break.

“However, we gradually found our rhythm and grew into the game. In the second half, we dominated play and scored a beautiful goal, but unfortunately, time was not on our side, and we ended up losing.”

Despite the setback, the former Ghana international is already looking ahead, urging his side to respond strongly in the remaining fixtures.

“Now our focus shifts to the next game. We must keep working hard and ensure we secure maximum points. With eight matches remaining, we will prepare thoroughly and approach each one with determination,” he added.

Medeama will seek a swift response when they host relegation-threatened Techiman Eleven Wonders in their Matchday 27 encounter at the TNA Park.
