A 30-year-old man, Charles Asuman, who survived a shooting incident during site preparations for a new quarry in the Awutu Senya West District, is calling on the Inspector General of Police Ghana to ensure justice.
According to Charles, no arrests have been made months after the attack.
The incident occurred on January 29, 2026, when unknown gunmen opened fire on a crew working at the Awutu Kwame Whettey Forest, a site owned by Chinese nationals.
The attack claimed the life of 25-year-old excavator driver, Gausu Yusif, while Charles Asuman was hospitalized for treatment.
Speaking after his discharge, Asuman expressed frustration over what he described as neglect by authorities. He pleaded with the IGP to intervene and apprehend those responsible.
“As a father of six, my family and I are suffering through hunger because of the surgery I underwent,” he said, urging swift action from the police.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement on progress in the investigation, leaving the community and survivors anxious for answers.
