Matchday 26 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League delivered a wave of surprising results across venues nationwide, following fixtures played on Friday, March 20, and Sunday, March 22.
At the Kpando Sports Stadium, Heart of Lions were held to a draw by Hearts of Oak in a tightly contested encounter.
In Swedru, Eleven Wonders and FC Samartex played out an entertaining 2-2 stalemate. Samartex raced into an early lead through Gabriel Osei just five minutes in and appeared to be in control when Emmanuel Marmah doubled their advantage from a rebound after a missed penalty. But the hosts mounted a spirited comeback, with Kofi Asamoah netting twice in the second half—including a late equaliser—to salvage a crucial point.
On Sunday, Swedru All Blacks edged Hohoe United 1-0, courtesy of Rudolf Mensah’s first-half strike. Basake Holy Stars also secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Young Apostles, with Francis Oteng scoring the decisive goal in the 19th minute.
At the Tuba Astro Turf, Dreams FC dented the title ambitions of Medeama SC with a 2-1 win. Adams Aminu opened the scoring in the first half before Abdul Razak Salifu doubled the lead shortly after the restart. Medeama pulled one back through Kelvin Nkrumah in the 75th minute, but it proved insufficient.
Defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars climbed back to the top of the standings with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Vision FC at DUN’s Park. Michael Nkoah’s strike in the 56th minute settled the contest after a goalless first half.
Berekum Chelsea boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 victory against Karela United at the Golden City Park. First-half goals from Seidu Abubakar and Dominic Frimpong secured all three points for Samuel Boadu’s side.
At the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, Bechem United recorded a 2-1 win over Aduana FC. Veteran forward Augustine Okrah gave the hosts an early lead, but Emmanuel Marfo quickly restored parity. Yaw Annor’s goal just before halftime ultimately proved decisive.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion, thrashing Nations FC 3-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium. Albert Amoah opened the scoring before Ndongani Samba Gilbani and Morifing Donzo both converted late penalties to seal a comfortable victory.
At the end of Matchday 26, Bibiani Gold Stars lead the standings, followed by Medeama SC, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in the top four. At the other end of the table, Hohoe United, Young Apostles and Eleven Wonders remain in the relegation zone.
