Twelve passengers, including a five-month-old baby, were injured in a rear-end collision at Agbate on the Kpeve-Asikuma road on March 18, 2026.

The accident involved a Sprinter bus and a petrol tanker, with the bus sustaining extensive rear damage.

Remarkably, no fatalities were reported.

Rescuers from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Peki Fire Station, led by LFM Prosper Klo, arrived promptly at the scene and used extrication equipment to free trapped passengers.

All victims were transported to Peki Government Hospital for medical care.

The District Fire Officer, ADOI Godwin Gbedemah, provided technical support during the operation.

Officials confirmed that the rapid response of GNFS personnel ensured all passengers were rescued safely and that the injured are now receiving treatment.
