The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Adansi Akrofuom, Gariba Mustapha Mohammed, has urged Muslim youth to avoid violence as they mark the end of Ramadan with prayers.

The appeal was made during this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr celebration held by Muslims in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.

Speaking to Adom News correspondent Isaac K. Normanyo, Gariba Mustapha Mohammed called on the youth to be moderate in their celebrations, particularly motor riders, to prevent accidents and ensure a peaceful celebration.

He also cautioned against certain cultural practices, noting that activities such as “sanla” dance are not in line with Islamic teachings and should be avoided.

Meanwhile, some Muslim opinion leaders in the area appealed to the government to expedite the tarring of roads and address persistent electricity challenges. Others also called for unity among residents to support national development efforts.
