The Muslim community in the Nkwanta South Municipality has celebrated this year’s Eid Mubarak under heightened security, following recent incidents of insecurity in the area.
Worshippers gathered at the Nkwanta English and Arabic School grounds to offer thanks to Allah for the successful completion of Ramadan, observing prayers and sharing messages of peace, unity and tolerance.
To ensure safety during the celebrations, police and military personnel were deployed to key locations to manage movement and provide security around the congregation areas.

In interviews with Adom News, the Member of Parliament for Nkwanta South, Geoffrey Kini, and the Municipal Chief Executive, Joseph Antwi Awal, together with some residents, expressed concern over recent security developments in the area.
They noted that several mediation efforts aimed at restoring calm have so far not yielded lasting peace.

The officials and residents appealed to community members to remain calm and continue supporting ongoing efforts to promote sustainable peace in the municipality.
