A petrol tanker has reportedly exploded at Potsin Junction, causing panic among motorists and nearby residents as thick smoke billowed into the sky.

The explosion is said to have occurred moments after the tanker overturned and caught fire, spreading to a local eatery, Ebo Chop Bar.

Adom News’ Kofi Adjei reported that the incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday, March 17, 2026, leaving commuters and drivers stranded in the busy station and trading centre.

As of the time of reporting, emergency response teams, including personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, had yet to arrive at the scene to contain the fire and prevent further damage.

Details regarding casualties or the cause of the explosion remain unclear.
