Asante Kotoko have pledged to regroup and come back stronger following their 1-0 loss to rivals Hearts of Oak in Sunday’s Super Clash.

The Porcupine Warriors had hoped to reverse recent setbacks—league defeats to Heart of Lions and an FA Cup exit to Aduana FC—in front of their home crowd at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

However, a first-half header from Baba Adamu proved decisive for Hearts of Oak, despite the visitors being reduced to ten men after Emmanuel Amankwah received a second yellow card.

In a statement on social media, Kotoko acknowledged the disappointment of the defeat but promised fans a strong response.

“We are hurt, but we will definitely bounce back stronger. Thank you all for your massive support,” the club said.

Kotoko will look to return to winning ways when they travel to face Young Apostles in Matchday 23 at the Wenchi Sports Stadium this weekend.
