A storm is brewing in Ghana’s digital space following the exposé of an alleged Russian national and his ‘sexcapades’ with multiple women, including Ghanaians.

Yaytseslav, at the centre of the viral scandal, faces allegations of secretly recording intimate encounters with Ghanaian women and sharing the content on social media without their consent.

What began as scattered whispers online has escalated into a national debate, touching on morality and the vulnerability of young women.

The Modus Operandi

According to multiple accounts, Yaytseslav frequented public spaces such as the Accra Mall, where he struck up casual conversations with female patrons. After brief interactions, he requested their contact details and invited them to his residence or hotel apartment.

Circulating clips suggest the interactions were brief, sometimes lasting mere minutes. He would approach, exchange contact details, and immediately extend an invitation: “Follow me, let’s go to my place.”

Per the circulating videos, some women followed him immediately, while a few visited later. Hardly any declined promptly.

What they allegedly did not know was that he was wearing Meta smart glasses, a device capable of discreetly recording audio and video. The recordings captured not only conversations but intimate moments, which have now surfaced online.

Discovery and Digital Shock

The issue reportedly came to light after Ghanaian users discovered a Telegram account believed to be linked to Yaytseslav, where he shared explicit content of his victims, many of whom are of African descent.

Further checks uncovered a TikTok account where excerpts of his conversations and intimate encounters were posted.

In some clips, he is heard boasting about the number of Ghanaian women he had slept with—allegedly over 30—though the exact number remains unconfirmed.

Public Reaction: Anger, Blame, and Division

Since the discovery on the night of Thursday, February 12, social media has been abuzz. The situation has triggered widespread outrage, with many condemning what they describe as exploitation, invasion of privacy, and the non-consensual distribution of intimate content.

Others remain focused on questioning the morality and intent of the victims rather than legalities.

Legal experts and digital rights advocates have also weighed in, pointing to Ghana’s laws on cybercrime and privacy. As of now, it remains unclear whether any formal complaint has been lodged with law enforcement or whether investigations have commenced.

Aftermath of Backlash

Following public backlash, the Russian national reportedly deleted all content involving Ghanaian women from his Telegram and TikTok accounts.

However, despite the removals, screenshots and screen recordings continue to circulate online, keeping the controversy alive and intensifying calls for accountability.

For now, his last social media post suggests he is in Kenya, where the cycle allegedly continues. He has since temporarily restricted his accounts from public viewing.
