Dundee United midfielder Emmanuel Agyei has credited former Dreams FC coach Karim Zito as the defining influence in his professional journey.

Agyei joined Dreams FC in October 2021 and made his senior debut a month later, coming off the bench in a 3–1 away win over Elmina Sharks on November 7, 2021.

His development accelerated at the Dawu-based club, where he became part of the “Still Believe” squad that enjoyed a remarkable run to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup in the 2023/24 season.

The 21-year-old’s impressive displays during the campaign earned him recognition with a place in the CAF Confederation Cup Team of the Week, underlining his growing reputation on the continental stage.

Now with Scottish side Dundee United, Agyei operates primarily as a defensive midfielder but is also comfortable in central defence — a versatility he attributes to his time working under Zito.

“Playing in every position under Coach Karim Zito at Dreams FC shaped my career, and I am truly thankful for the experience,” he told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show

Agyei departed Dreams FC in 2024 for Israeli Premier League outfit Ashdod, where he made 27 appearances across two seasons.

He has since continued his upward trajectory at Dundee United, starting seven of his eight appearances for the Scottish club so far.
