A taxi driver has died following a late-night collision with a commercial minibus, popularly known as a trotro, at Effiduase in Koforidua.
According to initial reports, the taxi collided head-on with the trotro along a stretch of road at Effiduase, leaving the driver critically injured.
Eyewitnesses said the impact drew residents and other motorists to the scene, where the driver was found trapped in his vehicle. He was rushed to a nearby health facility for emergency medical attention.
Despite efforts by medical personnel, the driver succumbed to his injuries a few hours after admission.
Fortunately, no passengers were injured in the incident.
Police have begun investigations to determine the cause of the collision.
