A dead body has been discovered in a septic tank at Blue Kiosk, a suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region.

The incident came to light on Sunday evening after emergency services received information suggesting that the woman may have fallen into the septic tank several days earlier.

Following the report, personnel from the Kasoa Fire Station were dispatched to the scene along the Obom Road, near the Blue Kiosk Bus Stop.

Upon arrival, rescue officers found a water-filled septic tank at the location. Efforts were initiated to retrieve the body, with emergency responders on site awaiting the arrival of the police to support the recovery process and facilitate further investigations.

Although the circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be fully established, authorities are expected to conduct preliminary inquiries to determine how the woman fell into the septic tank and whether any safety lapses contributed to the tragedy.

The incident has shocked residents in the area, who have raised concerns about the dangers posed by uncovered or poorly secured septic tanks in densely populated communities.

Officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and ensure that septic tanks and similar hazards are properly covered to prevent future occurrences, as investigations continue.
