Residents of Nsukwao Abotanso in the New Juaben South Municipality narrowly escaped a major disaster on Sunday, February 8, after a domestic fire broke out in a single-room structure but was swiftly brought under control by personnel from the Koforidua Metro Fire Station.

The fire, which destroyed the room and several household items, was contained before it could spread to nearby buildings, averting further damage and possible injuries.

Firefighters arrived promptly at the scene, and their quick intervention prevented the blaze from escalating into a larger emergency that could have affected the surrounding community.

No casualties were recorded in the incident, although the occupants lost some of their belongings, highlighting the destructive nature of domestic fires and the importance of rapid emergency response.

An investigation has been launched to establish the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, fire officials have urged residents to strictly observe fire safety measures to prevent similar incidents.
The Koforidua Metro Fire Station has reiterated its call on the public to adopt safe practices, including proper use of electrical appliances and careful handling of flammable materials, to protect lives and property.
